Addiction Specialist to Speak in Hiawatha
(KNZA)--An addiction specialist will speak in Hiawatha Monday evening.
Duane Olberding, executive director of Lawrence-based Professional Treatment Services, will give a presentation at the First United Methodist Church located at 410 Hiawatha Avenue on “ The Serenity Model of Recovery”.
Olberding and his staff developed the model described in his presentation. The Serenity Model of Recovery is a unifying theory of addiction-- unifying the understanding of cause, nature and ultimately the treatment of both chemical and behavioral addictions.
The presentation, sponsored by NAMI Pony Express and the Hiawatha Community Hospital, is free of charge.
