(KNZA)--The former Hiawatha city hall building has been sold.
The City Commission Monday evening accepted a bid from Ian Schuetz of Hiawatha, doing business as South Wind Ventures, for purchase of the building at 723 Oregon Street for $77,600.
The bid was among two received. The other bid was for just over $35,000.
The building has been utilized by the city water department.
The Hiawatha City Hall was relocated to the historic clock tower building in 2010 after the building was renovated to provide a historic artifact display facility for Brown County and office space for the city of Hiawatha and Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce.
