Highland College Alum Honored by Governor
(KNZA)--Highland Community College graduate Buddy Lisk, who is now attending Kansas State University, was one of four Kansas college students named as a national winner of the renewable $25,000 Buick Achiever National Scholarship funded by the General Motors Foundation.
The four were recognized by the Kansas Senate and then met with Kansas Governor Brownback.
The scholarship program is designed to assist students studying science, technology, engineering, and math.
Lisk, of Harveyville, learned of the scholarship while working with Kim Bechtold, an advisor with the Student Support Services grant at the College. Lisk was a member of SSS, an academic tutor, and a member of the Scottie football team.
