(KNZA)--A Horton man convicted of amended charges in a child abuse case has been placed on probation.
27-year-old Matthew Adams was given a suspended prison sentence Monday in Brown County District Court on two counts of aggravated battery and placed on 24-months supervised probation.
Adams pleaded no contest to the charges in July. He had originally been charged with aggravated battery and felony child abuse.
He was convicted of shaking a child born last year, causing great bodily harm to the child.
Adams was arrested in January following a joint investigation by the Horton Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
