Seneca Neighborhood Revitalization Focus of Hearing
(KMZA)--The Seneca City Council is expected to adopt a revised Neighborhood Revitalization Plan for 2014-2018 next month.
The Council last week approved a resolution setting a public hearing on the plan for their October 2nd meeting. The hearing will be held at 7:30 that evening in the City Council room.
First approved in March 2009, the current plan expires next year. It provides tax rebates for a specified number of years on improvements to residential, retail and commercial properties.
City Administrator Matt Rehder says the revised plan includes one change...elimination of the requirement that residential improvements take place on lots that previously held a building that was demolished.
Mayor Joe Mitchell says the change would make all city lots more attractive to new home builders—including those at Spring Creek Estates.
The plan is available for review in the office of the city clerk at the Seneca City Hall.
