Cattlemen Encouraged to Attend Animal Health and Nutrition Ranch Day
Edwards Cattle Company and the Kansas Cattlemen's Association (KCA) are hosting an Animal Health and Nutrition Ranch Day near Hamilton, Kansas (Greenwood County) on Saturday, September 14th, 2013. The day's event will begin at 2:00 pm. The lineup will feature presentations from ADM Alliance Nutrition, Elanco, and Zoetis. Presentations will wrap up with KCA providing an update of what is happening in the cattle industry and what KCA is actively addressing this year. Greg Davis, representing ADM Alliance Nutrition, will present information on narrowing the dietary amino acid gap in livestock. Katie Kueser from Elanco will discuss the use of technology and how it aids in increasing productivity, and Zoetis Beef Technical Services Veterinarian, Dr. Doug Hilbig will address preventative vaccination protocols and deworming strategies. "This is a day full of information and a great lineup of speakers. KCA is committed to its mission of bringing profitability to the ranches and rural communities of Kansas. This type of event provides resources so that producers have more information to make operational decisions that result in more profit. When independent ranchers are successful, often the rural communities in which they live are more viable. We look forward to the Ranch Day and encourage everyone to come out," stated KCA Executive Director Brandy Carter. The day will wind down with a USA beef supper and evening fun for the entire family.
