(KTNC) - Teachers from Omaha and Colorado have been named 2013 Boxley Scholars at Peru State College.
The college has awarded the full tuition Boxley Scholarships to Kelly Lawrence of Omaha and Paul Moore of Lafayette, Colorado. Both are enrolled in the school’s graduate program.
The scholarship covers full tuition, fees and books for Peru State’s entire Master of Science in Education degree. That is a 19-month online cohort program.
The online cohort involves a group of students who enroll and progress through the graduate program together.
Lawrence is a secondary resource teacher at Millard South High School in Omaha. She’s been a member of the school’s Literacy Enrichment Team since its inception three years ago.
Moore is a fourth grade teacher in the Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado, where he teaches subjects including math, language arts, writing, science, and social studies.
The Boxley Scholarships were created through a gift to Peru State from Ken Boxley. He is a Peru State alumnus and the Chairman of the Board of the American Asian Association, a long distance telephone company linking the continental United States with several countries in Asia.
