(MSC News)--A Leavenworth County native, and educator, has announced his intention to try and unseat Kansas’ 2nd District United States Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.
Chris Clemmons, a 2006 graduate of Lansing High School, plans to seek the Kansas Libertarian Party’s nomination to make the run for the 2nd District Congressional seat.
Clemmons says, like his party of choice, his decision to run for office is also relatively new, developed when documents, indicating domestic spying by the NSA, became public.
When he’s not talking politics, and his outrage for what he calls an “an assault on the Constitution,” Clemmons is talking about his love for the students he educates at Fort Leavenworth’s Patton Junior High, where he teaches 7th grade lifescience.
Clemmons will learn in April of next year whether or not he gains the Kansas Libertarian party’s nod of approval to seek the 2nd District Seat.
Until then, he’s wasting no time in preparing for that opportunity, saying that much of his recent schedule has revolved around his campaign.
