(KNZA/AP)--Heavy weekend rains lead to a daring Pottawatomie County water rescue.
It happened Sunday afternoon when a 9-year-old girl was washed away by the Kansas River at Wamego.
A bystander and Wamego Police were able to rescue her successfully.
Authorities say she was pulled nearly a mile from the river bank where she and her 17-year-old sister had been sitting.
