( KMZA )--Plans for a new building at the Nemaha County Fairgrounds in Seneca are moving forward.
Representatives of the Nemaha County Fair Board met with the County Commission Monday, and discussion was held concerning the construction of a new building to replace the south barn that’s utilized during the fair.
The commission gave the Fair Board approval to request bids to tear down the current building and also to request bids to construct the new building.
The new building will be similar to current wood frame building.
Meanwhile, preparations are being made for this year’s fair that will be held July 26th-29th.
The Fair Board asked commissioners if they had made a decision about allowing them to use the west storage room of the Community Building during the fair and about purchasing a window air conditioning unit for the room.
Following discussion, the commission voted to allow up to $500 for the purchase of an air conditioner for the storage room at the Community Building. The Fair Board will install the air-conditioner at their expense.
