( KNZA )--Brown County Appraiser Paula Jones has been re-appointed to another 4-year term.
The Brown County Commission Friday approved a resolution appointing Jones to a term ending June 30th, 2017. Jones had request a pay raise with the re-appointment, which was denied by commissioners.
Jones has served as county appraiser since November 2008.
In other business, county insurance broker John Matalone met with the commission. He told commissioners he thought county employee health insurance rates would go up by an estimated 20 percent for 2014.
The commission appointed Tim Lentz of Horton, who currently serves as Horton mayor, to the dispatch advisory board. Lentz will replace county commissioner Steve Roberts.
The dispatch advisory board will meet Tuesday morning at 7 in the upstairs conference room at the Hiawatha City Hall. On their agenda is the election of officers and continued discussion of the 1990 inter-local agreement between Brown County and city of Hiawatha for dispatch services.
