(KTNC) - The Falls City Volunteer Fire Department responded to two calls over the weekend.
The first incident was shortly after two o’clock Saturday morning, when fire fighters responded to a fire at the home of Roy Murphy at 722 McLean.
Fire Chief Ken Simpson says there was an electrical fire in an upstairs wall of the home. He says they tore out a wall to get to the fire, which smoldered some insulation in the wall.
Twelve city and four rural firefighters responded to the scene. They were there until about five o’clock Saturday morning.
The second incident occurred at 8:30 Sunday morning. There was no fire, but Simpson says the department was called to a home in the 1200 block of Harlan after a power line leading to the house that was arcing during the storm came down.
Falls City Utility crews were called to repair the wire.
