Nemaha Co Commission Receives Additional 2014 Budget Requests
( KMZA )--The Nemaha County Commission Monday received several additional 2014 budget requests.
Nemaha County Community Health Services Director Jane Sunderland met with commissioners to submitted their 2014 budget request. Sunderland requested a five percent increase in funding from the county from $42,800 to $44,940. Sunderland said the increase is due to factors such as the rising cost of vaccinations and the need to pay nurses competitively because the agency does not have health insurance coverage for employees.
Nemaha County District Court Clerk Patty Heideman met with commissioners to request funding for their 2014 budget of $60,180, which is the same amount as they have received the last two years.
DOVES Executive Director representative Tessa Jimenez met with commissioners to request funding for their organization, which provides support services for victims of domestic violence, She asked for $1,500 in support. County Clerk Mary Kay Schultejans told commissioners that she doesn’t have a record of county support of the organization in the past.
Commissioners will consider the budget requests when preparing the 2014 budget.
