( KMZA )--A new Nemaha County Senior Services/Public Transit Director has been hired.
Director Fern Odum introduced her replacement, Diane Yunghans, to the Nemaha County Commission this week.
Yunghans will replace Odum when she retires September 30th.
Yunghans first day of work with the county was May 30th, and she will be training with Odum until her retirement.
She comes to Nemaha County from Peabody, Ks and previously served as the South Central Area Director for Head Start for a year.
In other business, Jim Runnebaum and Jeff Kidd with the SBS Insurance Agency came before the board to discuss with Commissioners the renewal of the county’s insurance coverage.
Runnebaum advised Commissioners that atthis point the quote for next year’s coverage is $169,282.00, which is an increase of 13% from the cost of the current year’s coverage.
The company will be working with department heads to ensure that the correct coverage is placed on their department’s equipment before the July 1st renewal date for the county’s insurance plan.
