(KLZA) Members of the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department and Falls City Rural Fire Department responded to a call at the La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant in the 1500 block of Stone Street early Sunday morning.
The call came in shortly before 5 o'clock.
Fire Chief Ken Simpson says it appears a box of rags packed in a box after being cleaned spontaneously combusted in a food storage closet. Nearly all of the damage was caused by smoke. There were no injuries.
The restaurant will be closed until at least later this week after the State Fire Marshall and Health Inspectors have had a chance to look at the damage.
Firemen were on the scene for just over two hours. Eleven Falls City Volunteer Firemen and nine members of the Rural Department responded to the call.
