(KNZA)--A rifle and handgun competition will be among the numerous events Saturday as the Atchison County community of Muscotah holds its 7th annual Festival of Roses.
Activities begin at 8:00 in the morning with a car, tractor and motorcycle show in the downtown.
At 8:30, registration begins for the Paws In the Park dog show, which gets underway at 10:00 at the city park.
Also at 10:00, rose tours, a quilt show and the rifle and handgun competition are among activities that begin at the city park, followed by a ping pong ball scramble.
A garden tractor pull, which had been scheduled, has been cancelled due to the wet conditions and will be rescheduled for a later date.
At 11:30, the Tractor and Rose Lady Parade begins, with all women named “Rose” invited to attend.
That will be followed by local entertainment from noon until 3:00.
Food and refreshments will be served starting at 9:00, and will continue until the conclustion of the Festival of Roses at 4:00.
