Assistance For Local Storm Affected Families Continues
05/30/2013

Fundraising efforts are moving forward for the five families affected by Tuesday's devastating tornadic Nemaha County storms.

Items needed are now outlined, and donations are being collected in an account established at the First National Bank of Centralia, and are being accepted at that location, along with the branch offices in Corning, Seneca and Vermillion.

A clean-up day is also in the works, but the time for that to happen has not yet been established.

Below is a full list of items needed by the affected families.

Food items are not needed at this time, especially perishables.  Non-perishable items are welcome and will be stored in the city hall and distributed to affected families as they need through the rebuilding process.

Five families have been affected and several needing clothing and shoes.  For those wishing to donate suggested (preferable new) items for all families are - toothbrushes, toothpaste, make-up,toiletries(razors, feminine products, shaving cream), shampoo/conditioner, bath towels, soaps, brush/combs, hairdryers, curling irons, flat irons, bedding – pillows, blankets, sheets (twin, queen, king), big storage tubs (L and M), toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates & silverware (which will be sent to the affected families),

Monetary donations are welcomed and sincerely appreciated.  These will be distributed amongst the affected families.  An account has been set up at the First National Bank of Centralia and can be dropped at any of their branches located in Centralia, Corning, Seneca or Vermillion under the Corning Relief Aide Account.

To be announced at a later date, we will be organizing a clean-up day consisting of walking through fields to pick up debris.  We would appreciate your advertising this for us and will let you know a date and time.
