( KMZA )--No injuries were reported following the touchdown of a tornado west of Marysville Monday night, but two businesses and some homes were heavily damaged.
According to Marshall County Emergency Management officials, the tornado, which rapidly developed shortly after 9:30, remained outside the Marysville city limits as it passed to the west.
A confirmed touch down happened near 7th Road and U.S. 36 Highway, causing extensive damage at the Oregon Trail John Deere dealership and also destroying buildings at a nearby business, Precision Truss.
In addition, about 25 homes suffered damage ranging from minor to substantial. Some livestock was also reported missing at a farm where a barn was destroyed.
The National Weather Service says more severe storms are forecast in the area in the next few days.
