(KTNC) - Auburn will observe Memorial Day Monday morning with a program in Legion Memorial Park. The program begins at 10:00 a.m.
Nebraska State Senator Dan Watermeier, who is completing his first year in the Legislature, will be the speaker.
Auburn American Legion Post 23 Commander Dick Stich will be the master of ceremonies, and will give the Memorial Day address after Watermeier speaks.
Following the service, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will provide a program, including a Prisoner of War-Missing in Action memorial service. A display of military uniforms from the Nemaha Valley Museum will be set up inside the Auburn City Council Chambers from 9:30 a.m. till noon on Monday.
And the Avenue of Flags will be set up in Auburn Legion Park. Volunteers are needed to help install and take down more than 900 flags. The flags will be installed at 7:00 a.m. and will be taken down at 4:00 p.m. Monday.
