(KMZA)--A new Marysville Elementary School Principal has been selected.
That happened during a special Wednesday evening meeting of the USD 364 Board of Education.
Hired for the 2013-2014 school year is Centralia resident Jason Wheeler, who replaces Sharon Helus who resigned last month after her first year in the position.
She leaves to accept the same role in the Seaman School District.
Wheeler is a Junior/Senior High School Social Studies teacher in Vermillion USD 380, where he served as assistant principal for the Centralia schools from 2004 through 2006.
Active in athletics, Wheeler served as coach for the Junior High football and basketball programs for 14-years.
He also worked as the high school head track coach for 8 years and served 13 years as assistant High School football coach.
Meanwhile, the Board of Education is moving forward in their search to find a new superintendent.
That follows last months resignation of Khris Thexton who has accepted a position with the Great Bend School District.
The School Board has set two special meetings, May 29th at noon and May 30th at 5:15.
The two sessions will focus on matters of personnel, including interviews for the process of hiring an interim superintendent.
