(KLZA) The Richardson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible assault case that likely occurred in Rulo earlier this month.
53 year old Robert Simmonds was found badly injured in his home in Rulo on May 10th. Sheriff Randy Houser said Simmonds was transferred to Community Medical Center in Falls City and later transported by helicopter to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph where he has undergone surgery for serious injuries.
According to the Sheriff it does not appear robbery was a motive in the case and it does not appear the attack occurred at the Simmonds home.
Interviews conducted have turned up no details at this point. Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department at 402-245-2479.
