Kansas Highway Patrol
( KAIR )- A semi driver from Los Angeles, California escaped serious injury in a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening on K-116 highway in Atchison County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Elvis Lopez-Contreras was traveling west when his semi, which was hauling a utility trailer, left the roadway and entered the north ditch. The semi tipped onto the passenger side.
Lopez-Contreras was transported to the Atchison Community Hospital with possible injuries.
The accident was reported shortly before 6:30 about a mile west of Edwards Road.
