(KLZA) Details have been released on a traffic accident last Wednesday afternoon in Nemaha County, Nebraska that sent two people to the hospital.
The accident at the intersection of Highway 62 and 628 Avenue.
85 year old Glenn Koehler of Humboldt was driving west on Highway 62 when he said he observed what he thought was a vehicle in his lane of traffic. Koehler said he started moving to the left to avoid it. Koehler’s pickup struck a pickup owned by the State of Nebraska and a wood chipper, continued west and struck a front end loader.
The pickup and chipper were on the road, the loader was a few feet off of the roadway in the ditch when the accident occurred.
Koehler was transported from the scene by ambulance to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn and later flown to a Lincoln hospital with what were described as disabling injuries.
35 year old William Truscott, a pedestrian on the scene, was transported to the Johnson County Hospital with non-disabling injuries.
The Koehler pickup was totaled in the accident. There was an estimated $2,300 damage to the State pickup, $4,000 damage to the chipper and another $250 damage to the front end loader.
