( KMZA )-The city of Seneca will be searching for a new city administrator.
The City Council voted Wednesday evening to accept the resignation of Tami Haverkamp, effective January 29th.
No reason was given for the resignation, and Haverkamp was not immediately available for comment.
In her letter of resignation, she said it’s truly been a pleasure to serve the community and she’s enjoyed working with the council and city employees.
Haverkamp has served as city administrator since March 2008.
The Council gave Mayor Joe Mitchell authority to work with the League of Kansas Municipalities LEAPS program to find a replacement.
It's the second time in six months that Haverkamp has resigned. She submitted a letter of resignation last July, saying she wanted to spend more time with her family. That resignation was to have become effective November 30th.
However, in August she withdrew the resignation and the council voted to continue her contract with additional compensation of $350 a month to perform planning and zoning administrative duties. At that time, she said she was satisfied with the agreement and looking forward to continuing to serve the community.
