Unemployment Rates Drop in SE Neb. Counties

(KLZA) The Nebraska Department of Labor says the state’s unemployment rate dipped to 3.7 percent in November, the lowest the rate has been in four years, and less than half the national average of 7.7 percent.
In extreme Southeast Nebraska counties that make up the listening area, unemployment rates dropped in November.
Richardson County has the highest unemployment rate at 4.3 percent, down 2-tenths and 1.4 percent lower than a year earlier.
Pawnee County has the areas best unemployment rate at 2.4 percent, representing a decline of 4-tenths of a point.
In Nemaha County, Nebraska the November unemployment rate was 4 percent, down 6-tenths;  Johnson County was down 7-tenths of a percentage point to 3 percent for the month.  
In Gage and Otoe counties the unemployment rate was 4 percent.
Thurston County has the states highest unemployment rate at 7.2 percent.  Only five of Nebraska’s 93 counties had a jobless rate of five percent or higher in November.
