(KTNC) - A northwest Missouri woman was seriously injured in an accident involving a forklift Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, 26-year-old Melissa Last of Craig was driving the Allis-Chalmers Forklift on Route W, three miles north of Corning, at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, when the vehicle came out of gear. The forklift traveled down a hill and the patrol says Last jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving. The forklift then ran over Last before it rolled into a farm pond.
Last was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska with serious injuries.
The Atchison County Sheriff’s Department and Atchison-Holt Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the accident.
