(KMZA)--A surprise outcome to a special meeting of the Seneca City Council Wednesday morning, with the resignation of the City Administrator retracted.
Tami Haverkamp last month submitted her letter of resignation, effective November 30th.
The July 18th letter stated that she wished to accept the part time position of Executive Director with the Nemaha County STEP foundation, and serve, in both roles, until her resignation became effective.
Now, Haverkamp changes her mind, and decides to remain in her City Administrator role, which the Council approved during the special session(Play Audio)
Tthe Council passed a motion to continue her contract with additional compensation of 350-dollars a month to perform Planning and Zoning Administrative duties.
Prior to the contract approval, the Council voted to terminate its contract with the Kansas League of Municipalities, assisting with the search for a new City Administrator. The Council plans to negotiate with the League for payment of services performed up to this point.
Haverkamp will submit an official retraction of her resignation at the next regular council meeting.
