(KNZA)--A small airplane crashes near Holton Thursday night, and somehow all three men aboard survived (Play Audio)
That's Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, whose department was on the scene, 4 miles west of Holton, within minutes of the crash being reported (Play Audio)
Morse says two of the three on board did suffer injuries in the crash (Play Audio)
Apparently, based on statements from the plane's occupants, they had planned to land in Topeka, but instead the plane began to malfunction (Play Audio)
State authorities are now continuing the investigation(Play Audio)
The federal agency is expected to arrive Friday morning.
The pilot is identified as 58-year-old David Osborne, of Berryton, Kansas.
He and passenger Steven Stutzman, 52, of Topeka, were both transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of the what the patrol calls disabling injuries.
Osborne was held overnight and released today ( Friday ).
The second passenger, 47-year-old Stephen Graff, of Topeka, suffered only minor injuries.
