Former Rock Port Man Sentenced to Federal Prison
08/15/2012

(KTNC) - A former Rock Port, Missouri, resident has been sentenced to federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender in Nebraska.
U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg says 54-year-old Eddie Hall was sentenced to 30 months in federal court in Omaha.
Hall is required to register as a sex offender in any state where he lives or works, based on two prior convictions.  He was convicted in Holt County, Nebraska, in 1995 of sexual assault of a child, and was convicted in Montgomery County, Iowa in 2003 on a charge of indecent contact with a child.
Hall began working in Omaha in February of 2011, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Nebraska determined that he had not registered as a sex offender with Nebraska authorities.  He was arrested this past February and pleaded guilty to the charge of failing to register as a sex offender.
There is no parole in the federal prison system, so Hall will have to serve the entire 30-month sentence.  He will also serve a five year term of supervised release after he is released from prison.
