Doniphan County Wreck Sends Four to the Hospital

Kansas Highway Patrol

( KNZA )--A two-vehicle accident on U.S. 36 highway just east of Troy this Monday morning sent four people to the hospital.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 90-year-old Aurelius Kiefer of Wathena was traveling west in a 2004 Chevy truck when he attempted to make a left turn onto East Locust Street and was struck by a eastbound 2008 Chrysler van driven by 24-year-old Jennifer Throm  of Marysville.  

Jennifer Throm and three passengers in her van, 54-year-old Diane Throm of Marysville, 17-year-old Jade Wilbur of Taunton, Massachusetts and 17-year-old Melissa Throm of Taunton, were transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Jade and Melissa Throm were checked over and released.

Kiefer was not hurt.

The Patrol says all the occupants were wearing seat belts.

The accident was reported around 10:30 Monday morning.
