Buchanan County Bridge Opens
08/13/2012

(KAIR) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation opened Buchanan County Route M on Saturday.

The Sugar Creek Bridge located one-half mile south of MO 116 had been closed since June 25 for a bridge replacement project.

The bridge was closed to traffic for 47 days during construction.

This bridge was built under the Missouri Safe & Sound Bridge Project which replaced 13 bridges in Buchanan County.

The Safe & Sound Program will replace 190 bridges in Northwest Missouri by the end of 2013.

Currently in Northwest Missouri, only three bridges remain to be built under the program.
