Teens Involved in Amber Alert Appear in Court
08/08/2012

( KNZA )--Two teens involved in an Amber Alert last month made their first appearance in Brown County Court Tuesday.
17-year-old Logan Burris of Leavenworth and 16-year-old Jenna Hord of Atchison were advised of their rights and adjudication was set for September 11th.  Adjudication is similar to a trial in an adult case.
Burris is charged with four misdemeanor counts---obstructing official duty, driving while license cancelled, suspended or revoked, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hord is charged with three misdemeanor counts—obstructing official duty, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert July 6th after they say Burris allegedly forced Hord into a car at a Leavenworth convenience store the night before.
They were later stopped while driving through Hiawatha after a tip from an alert citizen.
