Brown County Primary Election Results

( KNZA )--Who the official winner is in the race for 2nd District Brown County Commissioner will not be known until votes are canvassed on Monday.
Results Tuesday night had Republican incumbent Keith Olsen winning by a 3-vote margin over challenger Roger Madere .  Olsen had 216 votes and Madere 213 votes.  A third candidate, Richard “Dick" Geiger received 126 votes.
Provisional ballots could determine the outcome of the race.  Provisional ballots are cast when there is a question if a person is qualified to vote.  There are a total of 42 provisional ballots, with 18 of those in the in the 2nd commissioner district. The provisional ballots will be consider when the ballots are canvassed Monday.
In the race for 3rd District Commissioner, incumbent Republican Warren Ploeger won over two challengers with 49 percent of the vote.  Ronald Rettele received 26 percent of the vote and William “ Bill” Pollock received 25 percent.
Ploeger will face no Democratic opposition in November.
The Brown County Clerk’s office reported a 32 percent voter turnout.
