Horton To See Mill Levy Reduced
08/07/2012

(KNZA)--Horton City Commissioners have some good news for taxpayers, with the lessening of the proposed mill levy increase built into next year's budget. That word came during Monday evening's meeting of the Commission.

Police Commissioner Jeremy Forkenbrock suggests maneuvering emergency service 911 funds, as allowed by law, in order to bring expenditures down. That is now approved by the Commission, meaning a mill levy increase of 2.9 as opposed to 3.8.

Because of the change, the budget will now have to be republished.
