(KNZA)--Non-life threatening injuries are suffered when a 17-year-old boy falls out of a vehicle traveling in Hiawatha Wednesday evening.
According to the Hiawatha Police Department, 15-year-old Matthew Hicks was behind the wheel of a Jeep traveling on Miami Street, at the intersection with North 9th. As he attempted to make a left turn onto North 9th, his 17-year-old passenger, Brandon Bock, riding in the Jeeps unenclosed cargo area, fell out of the vehicle.
Police Chief John Defore says Bock was taken to the Hiawatha Community Hospital for treatment and released a short time later.
The accident happened around 6:45 Wednesday evening.
