Kansas Woman Injured in Two Vehicle Accident Near Auburn

( KLZA ) 51 year old Donna Hanks of Reading, Kansas suffered disabling injuries and was transferred to a metropolitan hospital by Lifenet Air Medical following an accident Friday afternoon near Auburn, Nebraska.
Hanks was entering Highway 136, making a left hand turn onto the highway from 648 Avenue.  According to the Nemaha County, Nebraska Sheriff’s Department report Hanks failed to yield the right-of-way to a semi-truck and trailer that was eastbound on highway 136.
The 2013 Ford Taurus Hanks was driving is owned by Tyson Fresh Meats of Reading, Kansas.  The vehicle was totaled. The 2010 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by 45 year old Michael Hodnett of Rustburg, Virginia sustained an estimated $6,500 in damage. According to the report filed by Sheriff Brent Lottman, a citation is pending against Hanks.
The accident occurred at about 2:07 p-m Friday.  Hodnett, the drive of the truck was not injured in the accident.
