Brown Co Sheriff Provides Heat Relief
07/19/2012

(KNZA)--Due to the extreme heat that continues its strangle hold on the local area, the Brown County Sheriff's Department is working to help provide relief for those in need.

The Sheriff's office basement, at 709 Utah Street in Hiawatha, is currently open as a hot weather emergency shelter and will remain available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until the stifling heat subsides.

Water is being made available at the location, and a chair lift is in place for the disabled.
