KLZA - Grand opening celebrations were held for the new SHOPKO Hometown stores in Falls City, Nebraska and Tarkio, Missouri today. These grand openings were among the 20 held in the Midwest today. When all of the former PAMIDA stores have been converted, SHOPKO will have nearly 350 locations in 22 states.
A large crowd gathered for the ribbon cutting at the Falls City store. Brian Davis from the regional office in Omaha said SHOPKO is excited to have stores in Falls City and Tarkio. ( play audio :25 seconds )
Sheila Hamilton, manager of the Falls City store talked about the changes to the former PAMIDA store. ( play audio :42 seconds )
During the ceremony Hamilton announced SHOPKO was donating $2,500 for Falls City High School. ( play audio :23 seconds )

In addition to the Falls City and Tarkio stores, SHOPKO is in the process of transitioning PAMIDA stores to SHOPKO stores in Auburn, Beatrice and Seneca, Kansas in the area.
