Pawnee County Attorney Resignation Accepted

KLZA - The regular meeting of the Pawnee County Commissioners lasted less than two hours on Tuesday.
 County Attorney Victor Faeser informed the Commissioners during the meeting that he would be resigning his position as County Attorney effective December 8th, 2012.  Commissioners voted to accept the resignation.
Faesser also informed the Board they could keep the estate of Leo Hauner open until a saleable market was available for the investment funds Hauner left to the County when he died.  
On the recommendation of the County Attorney the Board voted to rescind a previous motion made in June instructing a letter be sent to the Estate attorney instructing the liquidation of the funds.
Commissioners approved an agreement with Region V Services and approved a request from Southeast Nebraska Community Action to use the Pawnee County Courthouse lawn, circle drive and south drive on Labor Day evening from 6 – 8 p-m.
Deb Wietzenkamp with the Extension Office informed Commissioners the Extension Board had appointed Juanita Sharpe to replace the position held by Janet Hinrichsen beginning August 2nd.  Weitzenkamp also informed the Board that she has accepted a position with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in Syracuse.  UNL will begin reviewing applications for her position on August 6th.
Commissioners also approved a lease purchase agreement with Caterpillar for a 140M2,  2011 Caterpillar motor grader.  It was the only bid received for a grader.
Requests for membership dues to the Southeast Nebraska Development District in the amount of $6,221 and housing dues of $376 were also approved by the Board.
