Auburn Council Tables Action Property Gifts to City

Earlier this spring residents of the Valley View Apartments in Auburn asked the City Council to clean up the area around the high rise apartment building.  The area has a number of dilapidated homes.  Mayor Scott Kudrna explains part of the problem.  ( play audio  :28 seconds )
    The City sent out letters to a number of property owners in the area and a couple of them have offered to gift the properties to the City.  ( play audio  :31 seconds )
    These two properties are located at 721, 11th Street and 716, 10th Street.  Mayor Kudrna who was in favor of moving forward with action to accept the properties, explained some of the concerns the Council members wanting to table the issue brought up.  ( play audio  :26 seconds )
    In other business Monday night the Auburn Council approved the appointments of Dave Pippert to the Library Board replacing Joyce Hutton;  Doug Jones and Micki Willis  were re-appointed to the Planning Commission;  Glenna Miller was appointed to the Auburn Housing Authority, replacing Norma Apple.  Mayor Kudrna’s appointment of Mary Kruger to the Budget and Finance Committee was not confirmed by the Council.  Instead, Councilman Frank Critser was appointed to the position.
