Omaha Man Sentenced to Prison by Nemaha County Judge

37 year old Corby Newburn has been sentenced to a total of 36 to 90 months in prison by Nemaha County, Nebraska District Judge Daniel Bryan.  The prison time was based on several charges.
    Newburn, from Omaha was sentenced to 36 – 60 months on a class III felony charge of attempted assault of an officer in the second degree;
    He was also sentenced to one year in the Nemaha County Jail on a charge of second offense Driving Under the Influence.  Newburn was given six months in jail for a class II misdemeanor of criminal mischief.
    In addition Newburn was ordered to pay $421 in court costs and his drivers license was revoked for two years.
    Newburn was sentenced for an incident that occurred in September of 2010.
    Newburn previously was sentenced to prison in Nemaha County District Court from August 2005 until October 2007 for being a felon in possession of a weapon;  possession of methamphetamine,  possession of ephedrine, theft by unlawful taking and aiding consummation of arson and third degree arson.
