Pawnee City graduate Garrett Borcher had another big day this past Saturday. He played in the Sertoma 8-Man All-Star football game at Hastings Saturday afternoon and that night participated in the Southeast Nebraska All-Star basketball game at Beatrice.
The West team won the football game 47-22. Borcher played for the East squad and scored twice in the game. On offense, Borcher ran for 54 yards and a 4 yard score on a dozen attempts. On defense he stole the ball from the West quarterback at the one yard line and then sprinted 99 yards for a score.
It was an 8-Man game but it was contested on a 100 yard field at Hastings College.
Following the football game Borcher and his family loaded up at Hastings and drove to Beatrice for the basketball game where he scored 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and had 3 assists in just over 16 minutes of playing time.
Borcher has signed to play football at Doane College beginning this fall.
