Atchison County Commissioners heard a proposal from nationwide ambulance group AMR at their regular Wednesday meeting as they look to decide what their next step is on EMS services.
County Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen says at this point, there are two options.

Commissioners are projecting EMS reform using a portion of the potential implementation of solid waste fees in the coming months.
Commissioners also revealed the details of a brief investigation surrounding allegations made last month by current and former employees of the Atchison Senior Village, claiming misuse of county funds and unethical treatment by upper level employees of the nursing home.
Commissioner Jeff Schuele explains the findings.

In other business, Commissioners gave GIS Tech Tony Redden the authorization to update flood plain maps for the county.
They also met with Kim Pruett of Joint Communications about budgeting next-generation 911 dispatch systems.
