Cutbacks Planned for Missouri Roadside Mowing
As you drive along Missouri Highways this summer, the roadsides will likely be a little shaggier than what you are used to. The Missouri Department of Transportation is hoping to save about 2.5-million dollars by eliminating one of the four mowings of medians and roadsides this year.
Missouri Maintenance Engineer Beth Wright says the department usually mows prior to each major summer holiday and in October but will cut back this year. ( play audio :28 seconds )
