Falls City Pamida Conversion to Shopko Underway
06/06/2012

Shopko

The liquidation sale has ended at the Pamida store in Falls City, and the store has begun the process of converting from Pamida to a Shopko Hometown store.
Shopko spokeswoman Tara Powers says the conversion will be a five to six week process that will continue one department at a time to allow the store to remain open during the transition.  (play audio  :36)
As part of the conversion, the stores will also get new interior and exterior signage, carpet, fresh paint, updated fixtures and lighting, and a new store layout.  Powers says shoppers will also see a greater selection of national name brand merchandise that wasn’t available previously at Pamida.
The pharmacy and store’s outdoor lawn and garden department will remain open throughout the transition process.
All 190 Pamida stores nationwide are being converted into Shopko Hometown stores, after Green Bay, Wisconsin-based Shopko purchased Pamida last year.
Stores Falls City and Tarkio are among the first 15 to be converted.  The Auburn Pamida store is part of phase two, and is in the final stages of its liquidation sale.  Powers says they hope to complete the conversion of all 190 Pamida stores into Shopko Hometown stores by the end of the year.
