The Auburn City Council discussed a letter this week signed by residents of Valley View Apartments asking their neighborhood be cleaned up. Mayor Scott Kudrna says he and other city officials went to visit with the residents prior to the meeting. ( play audio :17 seconds )
The Mayor says that there are ordinances in place giving the city the ability to go in an clean up when necessary. ( play audio :34 seconds )
Mayor Kudrna says it is also important when it comes to nuisances or crimes for the public to call the Auburn Police Department. ( play audio :35 seconds )
In other business items the Auburn Council gave favorable comment to the requests from the Auburn American Legion Post for special designated liquor licenses during the Nemaha County Fair. A salary ordinance was discussed to update pay rates for new hires for the seasonal park position, part-time street employee and new police officer John Neeman who has completed training and is on duty.
The Auburn Council also approved the Auburn Fire Department General Operating Guidelines updated by Chief Randy Bennett and Assistant Fire Chiefs Shawn Clark and Von Severs. ( play audio :36 seconds )
