Crack Seal Project Underway on Jeff Co. Highway
05/16/2012

An asphalt crack seal repair project is underway on a portion of K-92 Highway in Jefferson County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the project began Monday on a nearly 13 mile stretch of K-92 from K-4 east to U.S. 59.
Workers will fill cracks with an asphalt-like sealer to protect the roadway pavement from damage caused by excessive moisture and debris.
Work will take place daily during daylight hours, sunrise to sunset, Monday through Friday.
Traffic through the work zone has been reduced to one lane for both directions. Traffic will be directed through the work zone by a pilot car and flagger.  Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
Canyon Construction is the primary contractor on the nearly 57-thousand dollar project, which is scheduled for completion in mid-to-late June, weather permitting.
