There’s a vacancy on the Nemaha Central USD 115 Board of Education.
The Board Monday evening accepted the resignation of board member Duane Osborne, effective May 15th.
Osborne had served on the Board of Education since May, 2002, when he was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of David Roland. Osborne also served as Nemaha Valley High School principal for 10 years, from 1991-2001.
Osborne represents Position 3 on the board, which includes the east side of the City of Seneca.
Superintendent of Schools Darrel Kohlman says he wishes Osborne the best as he moves on, and the goal of the School Board, at this point, will be to find his replacement(Play Audio :26 seconds)
Those interested in filling the position are asked to give written notice to Board of Education Clerk Colette Hermesch. Questions as to the area included in Position 3 may also be directed to Hermesch at the district office in Seneca.
The appointed individual will serve until July, 2013 and may choose to run in the general election held in April, 2013 to fill the unexpired term which ends in 2015.
