The Seneca City Council and Nemaha County Commission have reached an agreement on how much the city should pay for dispatch services provided to its police department.
Also during a special joint meeting Monday evening, the city council and county commission reached an agreement on use of the city’s Emergency Services building by the county operated ambulance service.
City Administrator Tami Haverkamp explains..( play audio )
The issue over what the city should pay for dispatch services arose at the first of the year, when the county took over the formerly city-operated ambulance service, transferring responsibility for emergency medical dispatching to the county.
As a result, the city requested a reduction in the amount it pays the county for dispatch services.
The city paid the county $70,451 last year for dispatch services.
