KDOT Accepts Bids For Several Area Projects

The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for several area projects.
A nearly 6-mile stretch of U.S. 75 Highway in Brown and Nemaha Counties will be resurfaced from the north city limits of Sabetha to the Nebraska state line.  The project also includes the replacement of a bridge. Koss Construction Company of Topeka was awarded the contract at a total cost of nearly $7.7 million.
Bridges Inc. of Newton was awarded the contract for several bridge  projects on U.S. 36 Highway in Brown County.  The approaches on four bridges will be replaced and a bridge will be repaired about one mile east of the junction with U.S. 75 at a total cost of more than $550,000.
And Vance Brothers Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri received the contract to seal stretches of two highways in Atchison and Brown Counties.  Included is 12 ½ miles of U.S. 59 from the Jefferson-Atchison County line to the west city limits of Atchison and 15 ½ miles of U.S. 73 in Atchison and Brown Counties.    The total project cost is nearly $944,000.
Bid letting was held April 18th in Topeka.
